Airline Baggage and Freight Handlers

Airline baggage and freight handlers work in airports who generally look after freight and luggage. Freight handlers weight, check and prepare freight before they are taken for flight. Baggage handlers have the work of handling luggage on and off the planes. It’s a day and night duty, so they are divided into either the day shift or the night shift.

Luggage is uploaded or unloaded with the help of conveyor belts. Few of them are on the plane and their task is to sort out the luggage while others are on the ground duty. Each luggage is tagged so that they are in proper location and with its proper owner. Airline baggage and freight handlers must be very careful in dealing with these luggage and freight, so as to ensure that luggage and freight are not displaced or loosed.

Luggage is not handled uniquely. They are sorted by location and then they are packed in huge container and are then transported. Handlers have to seek the help of machines to move these heavy containers.

Employment in this field is expected to increase by 2014. Salaries vary depending upon experience and qualification. One can expect a salary of about $21,570 per year. After being a supervisors one can earned an average wage of $27,880 per year.

As discussed earlier, since airplanes arrive and depart at a constant rate, so baggage handlers must work in shifts. Handlers are also provided with summer vacations; discounts in air flight, personal insurance etc. Handlers must be fit and strong and should be capable to work in any weather conditions.

Curahan hatiku kepadaMu...

Ya allah...apa yang sedang terjadi pada diriku, apa yang selama ini telah aku kerjakan sehingga aku menjadi begitu terpuruk dalam rutinitas yang melelahkan dan terasa semakin berat, dan yang lebih aku sesalkan mengapa aku semakin jauh dari-Mu...
Mohon beri petunjuk kepadaku untuk segera menghindar dan meninggalkan 'dunia ini', dunia yang sebenarnya 'bukan' pilihan hatiku...'bukan' cita-cita jiwaku...
Karena aku yakin bahwa kita bekerja dan berkarya agar memperoleh ridho-Mu serta mendapat kebahagiaan baik di dunia maupun di akhirat...
Dulu aku berfikir bahwa aku telah menemukan 'dunia' yang bisa membuatku menjadi manusia yang benar-benar berharga dan dihargai, tapi dengan seiring waktu semuanya telah berubah...
Dan kini aku mulai sadar kembali, aku mohon jangan cabut 'kenikmatan' ini untuk bisa mengenal-Mu lagi, terus aku coba dan coba walau harus melawan 'dunia'...
